Krista Brand is an artist and curator. Her work invites an imaginative disquiet at the intersection of shifting weather patterns, construction, and collapse. Much of her process is informed by walking and observation, sifting through curbsides, parking lots, and cracks in the sidewalk. Interested in sensory experience and slow-looking, she finds places of overlap between inner and outer landscapes. Krista's projects include work in ceramics, painting, installation, digital design, drawing, and artist books.

Krista has exhibited across the country, curated multiple shows, and regularly collaborates with other artists. She recently co-curated a pacific northwest emerging artist exhibition at Moscow Contemporary and has been a four-time juror with Photolucida. During the pandemic, Krista co-founded Side x Side Contemporary, an online exhibition space focused on supporting international and emerging artists. She has been a recipient of arts and culture grants and a resident artist at Arts Letters & Numbers, Palouse-Clearwater Environmental Institute, and Saranac Art Projects. Krista teaches in the Department of Art at Washington State University.
